Длина редактируемого поля в ALV_GRID

Добрый день!

Столкнулся с проблемой: в таблице есть редактируемое поле, не получается дать возможность вводить больше символов, чем указанная ширина поля.
При наполнении fieldcatalog указываю видимую и внутреннюю длину, но система на внутреннюю длину не обращает внимания:

ls_fc-outputlen = 20.
ls_fc-intlen = 40.
ls_fc-edit = 'X'

Позволяет ввести только 20 символов.

Юникод, по симптомам. Где-то слышал, что в последних версиях GUI вылечили наконец.

Разобрался!
Надо было еще добавить параметр DD_OUTLEN:
ls_fc-DD_OUTLEN = 40.

Не вылечили, просто теперь 128 русских символов можно использовать с версии 7.2
